Cuchimilco

Idol of massive mud, called cuchimilco.

The cuchimilcos are statuettes that are identified by the city - state of the Culture Chancay, which developed between the year 1200 and 1470 on the central coast of Peru, and it had its center in the current province of Huaral, in the region of Lima.

These figures, they extend its arms as wings ready to fly or inviting a hug, like saying, "Welcome, we are here" removing this way the bad energies, that's why they have been found mostly in the graves of the nobility Chancay. By the peculiarity of its torn eyes, the cuchimilcos, also are known like "small stones" (not to confuse with the vessels of the same culture called "small stones").

In spite of being a feature typical of the Culture Chancay, the cuchimilcos also appear in the cultures Lima and Chincha.
