Toponymy

The term "Cucumber" owes to the name of an ancient farmer that Alonso Pepino was calling himself. Formerly the population was calling "New Village of Talavera".

Geography

It borders on the municipal téminos of Cervera of the Mounts, San Román of the Mounts, Cazalegas, Talavera of the Queen and Segurilla, all of Toledo. Cucumber is 8 kilometers of Talavera of the Queen and 90 kilometers of Madrid. It is to 454 meters of altitude, being provided with 4605 hectares.

History

The municipality of Cucumber belonged from its beginning, like inhabited place, to the Talavera town, in the dominion of the archbishops of Toledo.
