Morten Harket was born on September 14, 1959 in Kongsberg, Norway and it is known for being the singer of the trio Norwegian a-ha, which Magne Furuholmen and Paul Waaktaar-Savoy complete.
Morten Harket is considered to be one of the best voices of Europe and one of the most photogenic men of the world, being its excellent profile and well formed body the madness of its fanatics.
At present, Morten Harket is a father of 5 children (the last born in 2008). Of them only its daughter Tomine devotes herself professionally to the music as vocalist of a group.
Morten Harket began to be part of a-ha on September 14, 1982 for invitation of Paul Waaktaar-Savoy y Magne Furuholmen. Nevertheless, before this he was the vocalist of a local group called Soldier Blue. A-ha was a group of big success in the 80s, being the song "Take on me" that of major success, on its disc début "Hunting High and low" selling million discs. Morten Harket turned quickly into one it breaks hearts for those first images of the video Take on me where its aspect of northerly lady's man caused big sensation.
After a-ha it was separating in 1994 for internal conflicts, Morten tackles a career soloist as singer and composer and takes part in environmental projects. More important for him it was the struggle for liberating East Timor of the Indonesian occupation, a target that was fulfilled finally in 1999.
In 1996 Morten is the manager of presenting the Festival of Eurovision that was celebrated in Oslo, where he sang Heaven's Not For Saints as introduction to the gala (not like representative of Norway)
Morten has extracted three álbumes like soloist: Poetenes Evangelium (1993) and Vogts Villa (1996) in Norwegian and Wild Seed (1995) in English, but it never turned into an international throwing. Wild Seed was a big success in Norway, selling more than 160.000 copies.
Other projects of Morten are: the sound-track of the movie Kamilla og Tyven (1987), in which also a personage interpreted, and Coneheads (1993). Other sound-tracks include the central topic of the musical Sophie's World, To Jester In Out Town and the song Jungle Of Beliefs of the disc Cultures Span The World.
In the year 2007 Morten Harket presents Letter From Egypt its return as soloist and giving a break to its participation with the Norwegian trio a-ha. Last November 14, 2007 its first simple Movies spread in the radio of its native Norway, placing itself quickly in the first places. So recent as in December, 2007 it had a spectacular presentation in the Nobel Prize of the Peace.
